The Engine of Our Ingenuity

PROENERGY gives flight engines new life as fast-start dispatchable power. Capable of generating 48 MW with water-spray injection, our PE6000 aeroderivative turbine delivers reliable generation for 40,000 homes. With several units installed for validation in Texas and further production ongoing, these engines will provide grid-firming support for millions.

Runway to Resilience

Our PE6000 program took off with a 7-year, $115-million investment in R&D, manufacturing, and infrastructure. Leveraging in-house engine and repair expertise, PROENERGY developed other key experience in system and component design, materials engineering, and manufacturing excellence to advance the program. The result is a turbine manufactured in the USA with every new part to PROENERGY design and specification.

From Airborne to Aeroderivative

Our experts overhaul CF6-80C2 engine cores, found in aircraft including the Boeing 747, and match it with newly manufactured aeroderivative parts made either within our campus of excellence, or from our select partners. Assembled and tested at our string-test facility, these engines are ready for a second life in power generation.

8,000 Run Hours and Counting

The concept of matching a flight engine core with aeroderivative parts was born and executed through a collaboration between RWE, a major European utility, and PROENERGY. The first engine uses market available aeroderivative components and now has more than 180 starts and 8,000 run hours.

Your Critical Parts Are Covered

Our advanced manufacturing program creates a parts supply for the PE6000 aeroderivative engine while also overcoming common industry challenges. We deliver these new parts, including HPC Stage 3-5 blades, from our dedicated machining center to support the worldwide fleet for increased reliability and availability.
