RELIABILITY ENGINEER
Meet Bruno Garcia
“In my role, I detect engine failures before they occur. At PROENERGY, I have the liberty to explore new approaches and create predictive tools that help us identify engine failures before they ever develop using on the job experience and guidance from others in my team. A typical day starts with checking for alerts on any of 50+ engines. For a closer look, I conduct a playback study to see if engine data signatures match with the ones leading to failures in our library. Once done, I cleanse the new data to build, refine, and redeploy our predictive models.
I have learned to manage my time, prioritize tasks, and take initiative on opportunities to learn from our senior service engineers with 30+ years’ experience. Our AMPS group has a certain chemistry and mutual respect for different skillsets. We have an open-door policy. I can ask clarifying questions to ensure we provide the best service possible. And I can offer backup during times with a high volume of work.”
TURBINE TECHNICIAN
Meet Angie Cordova
“I joined PROENERGY for the opportunities to learn and grow in the industry. As a turbine technician, I disassemble parts of the engine. Working on nozzles, turbine rear frames, high-pressure compressors, and more has taught me how everything breaks down and comes together to better understand the engine as a whole.
On a typical workday, after the morning meeting and safety talk, I start on the priority assigned to me for the day. With colleagues who are knowledgeable and helpful, I can learn something from everyone here.”
ROC SUPERINTENDENT
Meet Damon Sabella
“Today, I manage the Remote Operations Centers (ROCs) in Sedalia and Houston, which means keeping day-to-day operations flowing smoothly for all customers. Over 7-1/2 years, my promotions have been organic, from starting as Control Room Operator, to becoming Superintendent of one ROC, to managing both ROCs. I’ve learned that I’m more capable than I realized, and I should trust my training and experience in decision-making. I’m proud of streamlining our logs and reporting, as well as improving customer relationships.
I come from larger power generation companies with long histories. PROENERGY has made good strides so there’s not much difference in pay, benefits, and time off compared to more competitive regions. The work culture is a faster pace, and I really enjoy the crew I work with. They’re all great operators. We come in every day and get the job done. Our ROC customers have great things to say, and that’s a direct reflection of my awesome team.”
