Energy Parts Solutions Restores IPP – Fast

When two transformers failed for the same west coast Independent Power Producer within three days of each other, Energy Parts Solutions (EPS) was able to provide, deliver, assemble, vacuum-fill and test two new replacement 50MVA Transformers out of their extensive inventory. EPS handled the project on a turn-key, expedited basis and performed ahead of schedule, exceeding the customer’s expectations. The client’s production was restored in less than a week.

EPS’ High Voltage field team mobilized and completely assembled the first 50MVA Transformer within 24 hours of its arrival. The second unit arrived the next day, and was also assembled within 24 hours. Three days later, both units were vacuum-filled, tested and ready to go.

“It is instances like this that validate our decision to maintain such a large volume and selection of Transformers,” said Bill Mars, President of EPS. “Multiple failures like this client experienced in May are not common in the industry. However, having the inventory, personnel and experience to address them for our clients in such an expeditious manner, is what I believe separates us from other HV companies.”

Energy Parts Solutions is a global provider of equipment and replacement parts for all major aeroderivative and heavy industrial gas turbine technologies, as well as High Voltage equipment and services. EPS is a division of ProEnergy, an integrated service provider for the power, oil and gas industries. More information on EPS is available on their web site at www.energy-parts.com.
