PROENERGY Awarded 336-MW PowerFLX Project by WattBridge

SEDALIA, MO (May 15, 2020) – PROENERGY announced that it has been selected by WattBridge Energy, LLC (WattBridge) for the Topaz Power Station as part of its Path to Power, a 2 GW platform in the ERCOT market. PROENERGY will provide a turnkey power plant solution that will include 7 LM6000PC peaking generation units with a total capacity of 336 MW.

WattBridge is a Houston, Texas based firm responsible for the development and operation of peaker power solutions enabling renewable energy growth. WattBridge has over 1.3 GW of generation planned for 2021.

PROENERGY Sponsors Emergency Blood Drive

SEDALIA, MO (April 3, 2020) – National blood supplies are at an all-time low across the United States. While the American Red Cross sponsored blood drives continue to be cancelled amid the coronavirus outbreak, PROENERGY answered the call by making the decision to step up and sponsor an employee blood drive to combat the emergency need.

A March 17, 2020, press release from the American Red Cross noted that to date, nearly 2,700 of its blood drives have been canceled across the country due to concerns about congregating at workplaces, college campuses and schools amidst the coronavirus outbreak.

With short notice, the American Red Cross Blood Drive was set up on the PROENERGY campus Thursday, March 26, 2020, where 26 employees donated by giving blood to help save lives amid the worldwide pandemic. All necessary precautions were made to ensure the donors, staff and donations were safe.

ProEnergy will provide a turnkey power plant solution that will include 6 LM6000PC peaking generation units with a total capacity of 288 MW.

WattBridge is a Houston, Texas based firm responsible for the development and operation of peaker power solutions enabling renewable energy growth. WattBridge has over 1.3 GW of generation planned for 2021.

PROENERGY Announces String-Test Facility

SEDALIA, MO (August 24, 2019) – A joint program between PROENERGY and RWE has produced a fully functional plant level string test facility for LM6000 gas turbines located on PROENERGY’s 100 acre campus in Sedalia, Missouri. PROENERGY completed construction of its test facility in less than 200 days from contract to first fire. Featuring its own load bank system, PROENERGY is able to test the full range of capacity with the freedom of being decoupled from the grid.

RWE Generation runs one of the largest flexible power plant portfolios in Germany, as well as highly efficient power plants in the UK and the Netherlands with a total capacity exceeding 25 gigawatts.

PROENERGY Awarded EPC Project by Public Service Company of New Mexico

SEDALIA, Mo (July 18, 2019) – PROENERGY announced that it has been selected by Public Service Company of New Mexico (PNM) for the Piñon Generating Station as part of the San Juan Replacement Resources being proposed in a filing with the NM Public Regulation Commission. PROENERGY will provide the engineering, procurement and construction for 7 natural gas LM6000PC peaking generation units with a total capacity of 280MW.

PNM is the largest electricity provider in the state of New Mexico serving more than 500,000 customers. The Piñon Generating Station is an integral part in the transition to a renewable energy portfolio. Piñon Generating Station will support this transition by providing fast, flexible, clean and reliable power for the customers of New Mexico.

PROENERGY supports PNM’s commitment to a clean environment. PROENERGY Welcomes New General Manager Latin America

SEDALIA, MO (January 9, 2018) – PROENERGY is pleased to announce that Alejandro Vigo has joined PROENERGY as General Manager Latin America.

Alejandro brings more than 23 years of experience from the power generation industry to his new role. His expertise includes all aspects from project conception to execution including project definition, project management and construction, startup & commissioning, operation and routine minor and major maintenance of facilities with gas turbines in simple and combined cycle. Prior to joining PROENERGY, Alejandro served as Manager of North Region Operations for YPF Energía Eléctrica in Argentina, running one of the largest power generation complexes in the country totaling more than 1000 MW of installed capacity. He also served as a General Manager for Latin America at PIC Energy and key positions at several different companies including SSOI, GE and Pluspetrol. His insight and experience in successfully executing projects in Latin America including Mexico, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Brazil and Argentina will be an invaluable asset in leading the efforts for PROENERGY with our Latin American customers.

PROENERGY Welcomes New Senior VP Business Development

SEDALIA, Mo. (August 14, 2017) – PROENERGY is pleased to announce that Walt Kittrell has joined PROENERGY as Senior VP of Business Development.

Walt brings nearly 30 years of heavy industrial experience to his new role.  He worked his way up through numerous trades from a boilermaker and pipefitter to a Project Superintendent. Walt also worked for NPPD in Columbus, Nebraska as a Project Coordinator, overseeing contractors at Cooper Nuclear Station on several refueling outages.  Prior to joining PROENERGY, Walt served as an officer and VP of Business Development for Fagen, Inc. for over 23 years. His responsibilities at PROENERGY will help lead the efforts on balance of plant work through a wide variety of industries.

PROENERGY Welcomes New Director of Controls Solutions

SEDALIA, Mo. (June 9, 2017) – PROENERGY is pleased to announce that Paul Goldman has joined PROENERGY as Director of Controls Solutions. In his new role, Paul is responsible for the development and performance of all activities within the Controls division and oversees operations to ensure production efficiency, quality and services.

Prior to joining PROENERGY, Paul owned and managed Goldman Management Consulting and held numerous roles at Waukesha Bearings Corp including VP of International Business Development, General Manager of WB, Russia and Director of Engineering. He also held several roles with GE Power Systems, Bently Nevada Corporation including Program Manager for Smart Services/Reliability Engineering, and Director of Research & Development and Sr. Research Scientist for Bently Nevada. Paul earned his M.S. and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from State Polytechnic University of St. Petersburg, Russia and his MBA from the University of Tennessee.

“Paul’s Controls expertise will support the increasing demand for gas turbine packages on our EPC projects,” said PROENERGY COO, Travis Simpson. “He will also lead additional developments on upgrades for our Clients’ existing control systems.”

PROENERGY Welcomes New VP Aero Turbine Services

SEDALIA, Mo. (May 16, 2017) – PROENERGY is pleased to announce that Bill Weisbrod has joined PROENERGY as Vice President of Aero Turbine Services. In his new role, Bill is responsible for the safe, reliable and economic operation of the Aero Depot and associated services.

Prior to joining PROENERGY, Bill was the Technology Director for Precision PCC Wyman-Gordon turbine forgings and has held senior leadership roles with John Wood Group and Rolls Royce. He earned his MBA from the University of Indianapolis and his Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from Trine University.

“Our Level 4 Aero Depot has seen extensive growth over the last couple of years, offering LM2500 and LM6000 engine overhauls, as well as outage maintenance in the field,” said PROENERGY CEO, Jeff Canon. “Bill is the right person to lead our efforts of taking the Aero Depot to a new level of expected growth.
