EPS Delivers & Installs 150 MVA Replacement Transformer
Energy Parts Solutions, a division of ProEnergy Services, recently delivered and installed a 150MVA,
69kV replacement Generator Step-UP transformer in Gillette, Wyoming. Following the failure of the
unit, the client set a deadline to be producing power on or before June 30th. EPS shipped the unit via rail,
utilizing special train service, and was able to deliver and install ahead of schedule by restoring the 100
MW of power back to service by June 24th.
“Delivery of new transformers is currently running at more than 40 weeks, but we were able to provide
this unit out of our inventory and restore power for our client in just 21 days from unit failure,” said Bill
Mars, President of Energy Parts Solutions. “Transformers are a critical component in a plant’s power
production. We are proud to be perhaps the only non-OEM supplier of an extensive new and used
inventory with so many options for our clients, along with an experienced field staff able to do fast track
installations like the one just completed in Wyoming.”
